Merbau Deck and Screen, Burnside

Ming and Trevor’s rental property in Burnside had a backyard that was challenging to use due to its sloping ground and stepped levels. They wanted to create more functional outdoor space, so they contacted Spruce for a solution. Our team of expert deck builders was able to design and build a customised deck that not only provided enough usable space for a table and chairs but also blocked the neighbour’s fence with a screen, adding privacy and visual appeal to the area.

For this project, we chose to use Merbau boards, an affordable hardwood that is known for its excellent durability and longevity. Merbau is an excellent choice for decking in Adelaide and South Australia because it is resistant to harsh weather conditions and insect damage, making it ideal for outdoor use. Additionally, Merbau has a beautiful natural colour and grain pattern that complements any backyard style.
